We have now passed over ONE MILLION images of original land grant documents on nclandgrants.com! To be precise, that’s 1,064,943 high quality images. The newest addition adds 136,500 new images for Bladen, Cumberland, Johnston, McDowell, New Hanover, and Robeson. We’re down to the final order which was placed a few weeks ago, but unfortunately we found out that a state agency also placed a large digitization order and they take priority. We’re keeping our fingers crossed to have everything done this year, but it could be delayed until January. Thanks for your patience, and of course thanks to all who donated and to the State Archives Microfilm Lab.
The final order consists of Columbus, Davidson NC, Davidson TN, Hyde, Montgomery, Nash, Richmond, and Sampson for a total of 73 reels.
Please note that the images are not directly link to a grant, but you will be guided to the general area in the digitized microfilm where you can find them, oftentimes right on the mark.
